Consultation & Brief
Establishing the brief is key to understanding the client's expectations for the atmosphere they want to create and how the space must function for guests and staff.
Benchmarking the project ensures alignment with the right target market, tailored to meet the client's expectations and attract consumers.
A firm understanding of the budget and how it is assigned is important; to the main contract, furniture fitting or equipment. A thorough review of the programme will determine if there is sufficient time to produce both the concept and technical design.

Space Planning
Dawne Studio has over 20 years of experience creating layouts tailored to each unique food and beverage offering in response to clients' different operational needs. Understanding space planning constraints and focusing on key circulation routes is key to successful function. Seating layouts that meet the clients' cover requirements will ensure the F&B space is viable.
How guests flow through the space informs areas of key design impact. A practical understanding of back of house food and beverage is important.
-
The Narrative
A compelling narrative endorsed by the client that tells the story of the project is the first step.
Dawne Studio researches projects, delving into the vast histories of listed buildings such as the Kensington Hotel, Heythrop Park and the Kensington Olympia in order to create stories that will engage the consumer and mirror the design philosophy.
A comprehensive knowledge of the building and its constraints is essential, including any elements that need to be retained. An appreciation of its history and context enhances design development.
-
Concept Design
Dawne Studio takes the client’s brief and establishes a narrative, developing design details, furniture and overall identity.
This narrative flows through all of the concept ideas, linking the look and feel of the project with material palettes, tactile finishes and details, artwork and dressing. Every element must come together to create the over-arching feeling of a space, mood and atmosphere in harmony with each other.
